Controversial activist VeryDarkMan, also known as VDM, has once again made headlines with a daring message directed towards celebrities Tonto Dikeh, Iyabo Ojo, and others, mere hours after his release from Nigerian police custody.
This latest development shows the ongoing saga surrounding VDM’s confrontations and the complexities of free speech and responsibility on social media.
The recent controversy surrounding VDM stems from his arrest by Nigerian authorities on charges of cyberbullying, particularly his explicit criticisms of Nigerian Police officers in a widely circulated video.
It has been reported that his arrest was instigated, in part, by actress Tonto Dikeh, one of the personalities VDM has vocally criticized on social media platforms alongside Bobrisky.
Central to VDM’s confrontations has been his allegations against senior figures in the Nigerian Police Force, particularly regarding their alleged associations with controversial figure Bobrisky.
VDM has accused these officials of turning a blind eye to Bobrisky’s perceived infractions, notably related to laws prohibiting homosexuality in Nigeria, claiming that Bobrisky’s connections shield him from legal consequences.
In a recently trending video following his release, VDM delivered a blunt message, targeting specific celebrities and societal influencers. He lambasted individuals like Tonto Dikeh, Iyabo Ojo, and others whom he accused of promoting negative influences among young girls, including encouraging bleaching, pursuing married individuals, and engaging in other questionable behaviors.
Despite facing stringent bail conditions, VDM’s unapologetic stance and continued vocal criticisms suggest a readiness to persist in his confrontations with figures of influence, regardless of warnings or consequences from authorities.
