Wigwe’s Death: US Identifies Possible Cause of Helicopter Crash.

US authorities have identified possible reasons behind the helicopter crash that tragically claimed the lives of Herbert Wigwe, CEO of Access Bank PLC, his wife and son, and Abimbola Ogunbanjo, former Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group Plc.

During a media briefing on Saturday, Michael Graham, a member of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), stated that weather conditions may have played a role in the accident. He indicated that rain and wintry weather, reported by witnesses, are being considered as potential contributing factors.

“We are meticulously and systematically reviewing all evidence,” Graham emphasized, highlighting the ongoing investigation. The team is currently gathering crucial evidence at the crash site while exploring all possible causes to determine the exact reason for the incident.

Graham further clarified that the helicopter involved was not equipped with a cockpit voice recorder or a flight data recorder, as it wasn’t mandated for this type of aircraft. Despite the lack of these recording devices, the investigation continues based on witness accounts and other available information.
