AMARILLO, Texas – A local man is looking for work after his choice of a Halloween costume led to his immediate dismissal from his job. Anthony Bianchi was fired after showing up to his company’s Halloween party dressed in a costume that attendees found deeply offensive.

Bianchi arrived at the event outfitted as a stereotypical terrorist, complete with a fake explosive vest. The costume did not land as he had hoped, instead creating an atmosphere of discomfort and upset among his coworkers.

In an interview, Bianchi defended his actions as an attempt at humor. “This whole thing is an unfortunate misunderstanding,” Bianchi stated. “The whole point of the joke is that I’m a Jäger-bomber. I’m not even from that part of the world—I’m an Italian guy raised in Texas. I thought the people I worked with were fun and cool, but I guess they’re far from it. Looks like I learned my lesson.”

The company, which has not been publicly named, moved quickly to terminate Bianchi’s employment. In a released statement, the firm said, “Our business has no place for offensive or inappropriate behavior. We stand by our decision to uphold a respectful workplace for all employees.”

According to the company, this was not Bianchi’s first incident. Last year, he was reportedly spoken to by human resources after he asked a female coworker if he could “sample some of her milk,” a comment that was deemed highly unprofessional and inappropriate.

The firing has sparked conversation online, with some viewing it as a necessary step for workplace respect and others questioning the limits of Halloween humor. The event serves as a reminder that what one person considers a joke can have serious real-world consequences.
