Filmmaker Nate Genius Leads 3-Day AI Training for NASENI Media Team

Filmmaker Nate Genius Leads 3-Day AI Training for NASENI Media Team.

Award-winning Nigerian filmmaker and creative entrepreneur Nathaniel Joshua Ogwuche, known professionally as Nate Genius, has completed a three-day practical Artificial Intelligence training programme for 10 media personnel of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI).

The training, delivered through Nate Genius Films & Media Ltd., was designed to build digital skills, improve media production workflows and encourage the use of emerging technologies in professional communication.

Participants were taken through hands-on sessions on AI-powered tools for photography, filmmaking, video editing, graphic design, motion graphics, content development and digital storytelling.

The programme comes at a time when artificial intelligence is steadily becoming part of everyday media work, and institutions are looking for ways to help their teams keep up without losing the human touch that creative work demands.

Creativity and Technology Working Together

For Nate Genius, the training is a natural extension of a career that has moved between filmmaking, commercial storytelling and creative entrepreneurship for more than a decade.

The Sony Alpha Ambassador has produced visual content for major organisations and international brands, and in recent years has turned his attention to how new technologies can change the way creative work is done, especially for African professionals.

During the NASENI programme, participants were introduced to AI applications meant to support their existing skills rather than replace them. The focus was on using AI to save time, improve decision-making and expand what a small media team can produce.

What the Three Days Covered

The training was divided into three main areas: AI foundations and creative development, AI-powered media production, and visual design and workflow integration.

On the first day, participants learned the basics of generative AI, prompt writing, research, idea development, script writing and pre-production planning. They practised creating effective prompts, generating visual concepts, building storyboards and turning rough ideas into clear production plans.

The second day dealt with AI in photography, videography, animation, video editing and post-production. Participants explored image generation, keeping visual consistency across projects, AI-assisted video workflows and ways to produce engaging digital content with new creative tools.

The third and final day focused on graphic design, motion graphics, repurposing content and combining different AI tools into one smooth production process.

Practical assignments ran through the entire programme. Participants worked on creative planning, image generation, video production and building AI-assisted media assets.

The sessions also covered responsible AI use, including accuracy, consent, copyright, data protection and transparency, which matter greatly when producing content for public institutions.

Building Capacity Within the Institution

Beyond teaching individual tools, the training was built to help NASENI’s media team see how AI can support the full production chain, from research and concept development to final editing and distribution.

A key part of the programme was developing repeatable workflows that participants can apply to their daily tasks. The sessions also encouraged collaboration across media disciplines, showing how photography, video, design, sound and content development can work together more efficiently with AI-assisted processes.

This approach speaks to a wider change in the creative and communications industries, where knowing how to work with technology is becoming as important as traditional professional skills.

From Filmmaking to Creative Innovation

Nate Genius’s work in AI training reflects his growing interest beyond traditional filmmaking.

As Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Nate Genius Films & Media Ltd., he has spent over a decade in visual storytelling, working on projects for brands such as Pepsi, Dangote, Guinness, BUA Group and Hollandia.

His background in commercial filmmaking, documentary production and creative entrepreneurship has shaped how he thinks about the relationship between storytelling, technology and organisational growth.

Through platforms like the Genius Creators Summit, he has also worked to connect African creatives, entrepreneurs and professionals with knowledge, technology and opportunities.

The NASENI programme is another step in that direction: moving past talk about emerging technology and into practical training that helps professionals understand and use it.

For Nate Genius, the future of Africa’s creative economy will depend not only on talent but also on the skills, systems and technological capacity needed to compete globally.

Preparing Africa’s Creative Workforce for AI

As artificial intelligence continues to change industries around the world, programmes that focus on practical digital skills are becoming more relevant to organisations that want to modernise how they work.

The three-day NASENI training shows how targeted professional development can introduce AI capabilities within existing teams while building on the expertise they already have.

It also points to the growing role of creative-industry professionals in helping institutions adjust to technological change.

Through his work in filmmaking, creative entrepreneurship, AI education and ecosystem building, Nate Genius continues to look for ways to connect African creativity with emerging technology.

The goal is straightforward: to help build a generation of African professionals who are not just users of new technology, but confident participants in shaping how it is applied.
