Nigeria’s Mountain Top Chorale Wins Gold, Crowned World Champion in Sweden.
The Mountain Top Chorale of the Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries (MFM) has brought honour to Nigeria after winning gold and emerging as the overall champion at the 14th World Choir Games in Helsingborg, Sweden .
The choir’s performance in the Spiritual Category (C14) earned them a gold medal with an impressive score of 87.38 points . Conducted by Oluwasegun Okedunmola, the group didn’t stop there; they also secured the top honour in the Champions Competition, a category reserved for choirs with proven experience competing at the highest level .
This year’s World Choir Games, often described as the Olympics of choral music, was a massive gathering of talent, bringing together around 8,500 singers from more than 40 countries, with over 160 choirs taking part .
The news of the victory was met with celebration. The General Overseer of MFM, Daniel Olukoya, shared his congratulations, describing the achievement as more than just a musical feat . In a statement, the church praised the choir for demonstrating discipline, excellence, and dedication, adding that the group had raised Nigeria’s banner high on the world stage . The choir’s success adds to Nigeria’s growing reputation in the world of gospel and choral music
