Iran May Learn the Hard Way If they Refuse to Make a Deal with US – Reports.

‘In a sharp exchange that shows the ongoing tensions, U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a pointed warning to Iran’s leadership, suggesting they could face serious consequences if diplomatic efforts fail.

The President’s comments came Sunday in response to remarks made by Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Khamenei had earlier stated that any American military action against Iran would set the entire Middle East ablaze.

Speaking to reporters at his Mar-a-Lago estate, Trump said the Ayatollah’s threat of a wider war was “not surprising.” He then framed the situation as a choice for Tehran. “We’ll find out whether or not he was right,” Trump said, if Iran’s leaders refuse to “play ball” and make a deal.

To back his words, the President pointed to a major show of force already in place. “The most powerful ships in the world” are currently positioned near Iran, he affirmed. This includes the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, which entered the Indian Ocean last week accompanied by destroyers and advanced fighter jets. Reports indicate roughly ten U.S. warships are now in the region, a buildup that mirrors recent U.S. naval movements elsewhere.

The verbal clash coincides with a significant date in Iran. On Sunday, Khamenei addressed a crowd in Tehran marking the anniversary of his return from exile in 1979, an event that led to the Iranian Revolution. In his speech, the 86-year-old leader framed recent anti-government protests as a failed “coup” attempt and accused the United States of covertly desiring Iran’s vast oil and gas reserves. He vowed the country would not yield to outside pressure.

The situation remains delicate. While President Trump expressed hope for an agreement, his coupling of that hope with a visible military presence sends a clear message. As both sides commemorate past confrontations, the world watches to see if the current war of words will give way to negotiation or escalate further.
