Shannon Hathaway was arrested on Thursday after the boy’s mother walked in on them in May, prompting her to be fired by the school she worked for in Fort Worth,Texas.

Her termination triggered a police investigation which culminated in her being charged with having an improper relationship between an educator and student.

In her mugshot, Hathaway grinned widely.

The pair allegedly started their relationship when the boy was a student at Harwood Junior High School between 2016 and 2017 when he was 17 and in the 9th grade.

Hathaway is married to a 34-year-old wrestling coach Joe Hathaway.

The status of their marriage is unknown but there is no public record of them parting ways.

It is not clear whether Shannon and the student were found at her home or elsewhere.

The school where she worked sent notices to parents after she was fired to say she had been let go for breaching policy.

After her arrest on Thursday, the principal left a voicemail with parents to say that none of her sexual contact with the boy happened on school grounds.

It remains unclear if Hathaway was granted bail on Thursday or if she is yet to see a judge.

Her husband did not respond to DailyMail.com’s inquiries on Friday morning.
