25-Year-Old Prostitute Arrested for Selling Her 4 Months Old Baby.
A 25-year-old s*x worker identified as Zainab Adamu has been arrested by the Katsina State Police Command for allegedly selling her four months old baby girl for N300, 000.
The spokesperson of the command Isah Gambo, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday, December 2, said that the suspect, an indigene of Adamawa state but residing at Kofar Kaura Layout area of Katsina, was arrested on November 26, based on a tip-off.
“Zainab conspired with her friend, one Ruth Kenneth, 32, of Kofar Kaura Layout, an indigene of Delta state and sold her four months old baby girl to one Chinwendi Omeh, 43, of Ekwusigo LGA of Anambra State at the cost of three hundred thousand naira (N300,000:00K).” said Gambo.
“In the course of investigation another suspect, one Chukwudi Elias Nnali, aged 45yrs of the same address, brother to Chinwindi Omeh, was also arrested for aiding and abetting the commission of the offense.
The sums of one hundred and sixty-five thousand Naira, (N165,000:00K) and eighty-five thousand Naira (N85,000:00K) were recovered from Zainab Adamu and Ruth Kenneth respectively as proceeds of the sale of the baby.
An investigation is ongoing.” he added.
Recall also an earlier report of how the Kaduna State Police Command arrested a couple for stealing a three-day-old baby.
A statement released by the spokesperson of the state police command, ASP Mohammed Jalige, said the state police command received a complaint of the missing baby on November 9.
”On receipt of the complaint, the operatives of the command immediately swung into action, gathered sufficient intelligence, and succeeded in arresting the suspects namely; Kabiru Suleiman 30yrs (Husband), Aisha Musa 19yrs (Wife), and Salamatu Musa 27yrs of age all resident of Abuja Road Rigasa
It is worthy to note that the suspects started nurturing the evil plan during the early period of the pregnancy by coming closer to the expectant mother in the guise of friendship and succeeded in whisking away the baby three days after delivery to an unknown destination.” the statement read.
