Buhari Will Face International Criminal Court If Killing Of Southeasterners Continue – Igbo Groups.
Groups representing Igbo interests in the diaspora, the Igbo World Coordination of Congress (WIC), the Igbo World Assembly (IWA), and Nzuko Umunna have strongly condemned the order of the acting Police Inspector General, Usman, to shoot on the spot. The police chief launched a new special action plan, codenamed Operation Restore Peace, last Tuesday to crack down on members of the indigenous population of Biafra (IPOB) and their militant arm, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), over the uprising in the region. Police said in a statement that the IGP launched the special operation on Michael Okpara Square in Enugu to restore the southeast region of its historical pride as the place where its people live, known for being peaceful, tolerant, innovative to be hardworking and enterprising. It also said in part:
” The IGP recognized the individual and collective efforts of all Southeast governors and other critical actors in the region to assist the police in restoring security and strengthening national unity, and assured the nation so in the coming For years, the special operation will be extended to other parts of the southeast region to confront criminal elements, bring the fight to our doorsteps and reorganize our valuable national values in the region.

The groups in a declaration jointly signed by Professor Anthony Ejiofor, President of the Igbo World Congress; Dr Nwachukwu Anakwenze, President of the Igbo World Assembly; Sir Ngozi Odumuko, executive secretary of Nzuko Umunna, and Elder Amadiebube Mbama, coordinator of the Joint Action Committee, said the federal government’ s response to the growing insecurity in the region is hateful and threatening.
The region in a war zone rather than bringing peace, stability and development. They also called on the federal government to adopt the 12- point agenda recently approved by the governors of the South, particularly on restructuring, state policing and the ban on free- range cattle grazing.
They believe this will bring a permanent solution to the insecurity challenge in the region. The statement read: ” The entire Igbo nation in the United States of America under the coordination of the Igbo World Congress, the Igbo World Assembly and Nzuko Umunna reaffirm the connectedness and unity of Ndigbo in the diaspora, and we have decided to take centre stage Act Ndigbo Point in the US We agree in our strong condemnation of the police inspector general’ s order to fire by sight against Igbo youths.
