MAN Jail At The Age of 15 In 1953 Gains Freedom in 2021 After 68 Years. This Was The Crime He Committed.
As we always do, we are here again to give you another real-life story of a man who was sent to prison at the age of 15 and released this year 2021. Please relax and grab your popcorn or anything you can grab to keep you reading and am very sure after this article, you would learn a very big moral lesson from it.
This life we live in is very short and every second we spend must matter to us. On the 20th of February, 1953, a 15-year-old boy who was named, Joseph Ligon went to a party with his friends. They got drunk and they made a very big mistake in their life which later on affect them for the rest of their lives.
They were drunk, so they ended up robbing and stabbing 8 people that very night. Two of the victims lost their lives while the others were badly injured. As a result of this, Joseph Ligon was arrested and he went to trial where he accepted to be guilty to the crime which he was been charged with. Unfortunately, he was sentenced to mandatory life imprisonment after he pled guilty.
He lost his entire childhood and spent most of his life in prison. He was meant to spend the rest of his entire life in prison but something happened in the year 2017. After spending almost many years in the prison yards, he was eligible for parole which means he would spend some time out of jail and return. Instead of accepting this kind of offer, Joe Ligon rejected the parole if he is going to get out of jail, he does not want to ever come back behind bars again, so it is better for him to stay than to leave and come back later.
He then said, he had spent so many years in jail that he is out for a while and come back or getting supervised for the rest of his life. So he rejected the offer. It has been 68 years now that Joseph Ligon has been in prison and he thought he was going to rot in prison for the remaining rest of his life because he was sentenced to life imprisonment but God finally intervened for him. After his attorney won the case last 2020 on his behalf, after refusing not to give up fighting for Joseph Ligon case.
Joseph Ligon was let out of prison this year (2021) After he got out, he said, he wants others to learn from his experience because he is now like a foreigner in this world as everything has changed totally to him. He has been in jail since 20th Century and he came out in the 21st Century, many things have changed and he will just start learning how to survive all again.

Joseph Ligon is currently at the age of 84 years and has been the longest American serving prisoner.
What I in particular have learnt from this story is, we should know our limits and not do things overdosed which might lead us into trouble.
