My Hands Tremble As I Write – Rev Ezekiel Dachomo Speaks on December 16th Killings and Abductions of Christians in the North.

In a powerful and deeply personal message shared on social media, Christian leader Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo has given voice to the grief and fear felt by many following a violent attack in northern Nigeria this month.

The Reverend wrote of an assault on December 16th that targeted Christian communities. He said the attackers had issued warnings before carrying out the raid, which reportedly resulted in the loss of lives, kidnappings, and the destruction of homes just as the Christmas period was beginning.

“From a place where tears refuse to stop falling,” Dachomo wrote, “My hands tremble as I write, because what has happened to our people is too heavy to carry in silence.”

His post paints a heartbreaking picture of the aftermath. “Homes were turned into ashes,” he stated. “Laughter was replaced with cries. And on Saturday, we buried bodies that should have been celebrating Christmas. We buried dreams. We buried futures.”

The Reverend’s message is both a lament and a call to action for fellow believers. He asks a painful, repeated question: “My brethren, how long shall this continue?”

While focusing on spiritual strength, Dachomo’s plea comes amid broader conversations about security. In a related development, reports confirm the United States is working with Nigerian authorities on surveillance efforts to combat terrorist groups in the region. The US has also committed a substantial aid package, reported to be $2.1 billion, to support medical facilities run by Christian organizations in Nigeria, aiming to bolster healthcare in affected areas.

At the core of Dachomo’s message, however, is a call for faith and unity. He urges Christians to come together in prayer, asking for divine intervention and comfort for the victims.

“We pray for Christians in the North,” he wrote. “We pray that even in pain, their faith will not fail… When one Christian suffers, we all bleed.”

Amen.

My Brethren in Christ,

I write to you today with a heart that is broken beyond words. I write to you from a place of sorrow, from a place of deep pain, from a place where tears refuse to stop falling. My hands tremble as I write, because what has happened to our people is too heavy to carry in silence.

My brethren, our brothers and sisters in the North were warned. They were told that this Christmas would not bring joy, but sorrow. They were told it would not bring songs, but tears. And just as evil promised, on the 16th of December 2025, the warning became blood, pain, and death.

Innocent Christians were attacked. Fathers, mothers, children people whose only crime was calling on the name of Jesus were brutally taken away. Homes were turned into ashes. Laughter was replaced with cries. And on Saturday, we buried bodies that should have been celebrating Christmas. We buried dreams. We buried futures. We buried loved ones while heaven watched.

My brethren, how long shall this continue?

The Bible says in Psalm 34:19, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.” But today, our affliction feels unbearable. Today, our tears feel endless.

Yet the Word of God assures us that God is not blind to innocent blood. In Genesis 4:10, God said, “The voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.” The blood of our brothers and sisters is crying out to God even now.

My brethren, the Bible does not teach us to take revenge with our hands, but it teaches us to hand over judgment to God. Scripture says in Romans 12:19, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.”

This means heaven will answer. God will arise.

The Word also tells us in Proverbs 26:2, “The curse causeless shall not come.” When lives are taken without mercy, when human sympathy is absent, when wickedness becomes deliberate, then divine judgment is unavoidable.

Therefore, my brethren, let us come together as one body in Christ. Let us cry to God with one voice. Let us ask the righteous Judge to put an end to this evil, to scatter those who delight in bloodshed, and to let their wicked plans collapse. As written in Psalm 7:9,

“Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just.”

We pray for Christians in the North. We pray that even in pain, their faith will not fail. We pray that when fear surrounds them, their faith will fight for them. We pray that though they walk through the valley of the shadow of death, they will fear no evil, because God is with them (Psalm 23:4).

Jesus Himself warned us in John 16:33, “In this world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

My brethren, this pain is real—but Christ has overcome.

Let us not be silent. Let us not be divided. When one Christian suffers, we all bleed. Let our prayers rise like fire before the throne of God. Let our tears speak where our words fail. Let our faith stand when everything else is shaken.

May God comfort every widow.

May He strengthen every orphan.

May He heal every wounded heart.

And may the souls of the departed rest in the eternal peace of Christ.
