Palm Sunday Massacre: Several Killed as Armed Assailants Hit Angwan Rukuba Community in Jos North.

Residents of Angwan Rukuba in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State are still coming to terms with a deadly attack that happened on Sunday evening, when suspected gunmen stormed the Gari Ya Waye community and opened fire on residents.

The attack, which began around 7:50 pm, caught many people off guard as heavily armed assailants moved into the area. According to eyewitness accounts, the gunmen fired repeatedly, sending residents scattering in different directions as they tried to escape the hail of bullets.

While the exact number of casualties remains unclear as of Sunday night, sources within the community said several people lost their lives in the assault. A number of others sustained gunshot wounds and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Those who witnessed the incident described the attackers as swift and organized, carrying out the operation and disappearing into the darkness before security forces could arrive.
