Akeredolu’s Remains Arrive in Nigeria.
The body of former Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) has arrived in Nigeria from Germany. His passing away on Wednesday, December 27th sent shockwaves across the country, leaving the nation in grief.
Governor Akeredolu’s spokesperson, Richard Olatunde, confirmed the arrival on his social media platform, stating that the plane carrying his remains touched down at approximately 3:39 p.m. A poignant scene unfolded at the airport as family members, friends, associates, and supporters gathered to receive their beloved leader.
Among the mourners were the late governor’s children and siblings, including Prof. Wole Akeredolu. His wife, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu was heartbroken as she could be seen crying.
Dignitaries joined the family in paying their respects. Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Tayo Ayinde, stood alongside representatives from Lagos and Osun states. The Ondo State government was well-represented, with Secretary to the State Government Princess Oladunni Odu, House of Representatives member Hon. Gboyega Adefarati, and APC Chairman Engr. Ade Adetimehin present to offer their condolences.
As the late governor’s remains were carefully transported from the plane, emotions ran high. Friends, associates, and supporters, their faces etched with sorrow, struggled to hold back tears.
Governor Akeredolu’s journey has ended, but his impact continues to ripple through the fabric of Nigerian society.
