APC Convention: Three Party Delegates Killed, Others Hospitalized in Makurdi-Lafia Road Crash.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State is in mourning after a road accident claimed the lives of three party members travelling for the party’s zonal congress in Nasarawa State.
The victims, delegates from Ogbadigbo Local Government Area, lost their lives on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, along the Makurdi–Lafia Expressway. Their remains have been taken to a mortuary.

The news of the accident has cast a somber mood over party members in the state, who are now grappling with the loss just as political activities ramp up elsewhere.

Meanwhile, in the federal capital, preparations are in full swing for the party’s National Convention. A heavy security presence has led to movement restrictions on roads leading to Eagle Square, the venue for the event.
With delegates and party faithful arriving from across the country, accommodation in Abuja is becoming hard to come by. Most hotels within the city centre and surrounding districts are reporting full occupancy.

In a lighter vein, observers have noted that one accessory will be in high demand at the convention grounds: power banks. This comes as many areas of the city continue to experience an unreliable electricity supply, forcing attendees to rely on portable chargers to keep their devices powered throughout the day’s proceedings.
