“It is the work of the devil and my political enemies” – Kano Rep opens up about blue tongue during primaries

“It is the work of the devil and my political enemies” – Kano Rep opens up about blue tongue during primaries.

A member of the House of Representatives from Kano State has finally addressed the rumours that went viral during the last political primaries. Back then, many people accused him of taking illegal substances after a blue colour was seen on his tongue.

Now, the lawmaker, Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, is speaking out again. This time, he wants Nigerians to hear his side of the story directly from him.

According to information gathered by Toktok9ja Media, Doguwa said the blue colour did not come from any drug. He said it was simply from a blue candy he was eating at the time.

“It is the work of the devil and my political enemies who claimed I was taking substances,” Doguwa said. “What was in my mouth was sweet blue candy.”

The statement has brought the old issue back into public discussion. During the primaries, pictures of the lawmaker’s blue tongue spread quickly online. Many people who saw the photos drew their own conclusions. Some accused him of taking hard substances. Others called for an investigation.

But Doguwa has continued to deny those claims. He insists that his political opponents saw an opportunity to bring him down and they took it. He now says the devil and his enemies worked together to spread false stories about him.

However, not everyone is convinced by his new explanation. Many Nigerians are asking one simple question: does a blue candy really leave that kind of colour on the tongue?

Here is what people are pointing out. Normally, sweets and candies dissolve as you suck them. They may change the colour of your saliva or give a slight tint to your tongue. But the colour seen in Doguwa’s mouth during the primaries was deep and spread across the surface of his tongue. For some people, that does not look like the work of a regular candy.

One social media user commented, “I have eaten blue candy before. It melts fast and the colour goes away immediately. What we saw on his tongue was different.”

Another person said, “If it was really candy, why didn’t he say so immediately? Why wait until now to explain?”

Despite the doubts, Doguwa is standing by his story. He has not provided any additional proof, such as the brand of candy or pictures showing the product. But he remains firm that the whole issue was blown out of proportion by people who want to destroy his political career.

This is not the first time Doguwa has found himself in the middle of a heated public debate. As a well-known politician from Kano, he has faced different controversies over the years. But this particular one caught national attention because of the unusual nature of the evidence — a blue tongue that many people saw with their own eyes.

For now, the lawmaker has made his position clear. He says the matter should be put to rest. But the public conversation is far from over. Many Nigerians are still waiting to see if he will offer any stronger proof or if new details will emerge in the coming days.

Until then, the blue candy story remains what it is — his word against the photos that millions of people have already seen.
