Jubilation and Gunshots As Sunday Igboho Storms Osun State Escorted By Armed Policemen.
Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, a Yoruba activist, stormed in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, on Saturday to demand the Yoruba Nation.
It would be recalled that Sunday Igboho was one of the conveners of the Yoruba Nation, a secession movement that wants all Yorubas to secede from Nigeria.
Nigeria’s most recent challenge is the issue of insecurity, which has resulted in the loss of lives and property across the country. This has sparked calls for separation from various ethnic groups in Nigeria. The South East is pushing for the establishment of a Biafra republic, the Miyeti Allah for a Fulani colony, and the South West for the establishment of an Oduduwa republic.
According to the video shared by his spokesman, Koiki Media, thousands of youths were seen in blue shirts with the words ” Yoruba Nation” written on their vehicles.
Amotekun and security operatives were all present at the rally as gun were shots in the air from various directions.
During his speech at the rally, Igboho called for the release of Oodua Peoples Congress operatives who had been detained by security operatives for arresting infamous Fulani herder Iskilu Wakili in the Ibarapa region of Oyo State.
Igboho also claimed that no election will be held in Yoruba land in 2023.
He went on to say that the Yoruba people must unite because they are no longer a slave to the northerners.
The majority of people came surrounded him at the rally, with police escorts behind him, while some people are surprised and asked if the rally was not anti-government considering the security men on duty.
