Tension As Amotekun Handed Over 80 Armed Fulani Going To Lagos, Ogun To Nigerian Police (VIDEO).
No fever than 80 armed Fulani herdsmen was apprehended by the men of the Oyo State Security Network Agency, the Western Nigeria security network, also known as Amotekun.
A top police official at Testing Ground Police Command, Ibadan verified the development to newsmen in Ibadan.
The top police officer said ” Yes, they were ceded to us but we have transferred them to state police command for additional investigation. We all require to be more vigilant and report any suspicious moves in our community, “
The armed Fulani herdsmen were blocked at the Iwo Road area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
According to a statement, the Fulani herdsmen were armed with destructive weapons like bows, arrows, and daggers.
Apart from that, references told reporters in Ibadan that there were about 25 motorcycles along with cattle in their truck vehicles.
Upon inquiry by the office of the Amotekun security network, the men were reported to have told the Amotekun operatives that they were driving and heading towards Lagos and Ogun states, as stated.
The search was said to have enticed residents who trooped to the scene, but to prevent an emergency, the security agents were said to have led the truck filled with destructive weapons, 25 motorcycle, and its inhabitants to the police station at the Testing Ground area in Iwo Road, Ibadan the capital city of Oyo State.
They were asserted to have been handed over to the police at the station in Oyo State for additional interrogation.
Not quite long, many Fulani herdsmen have decided to leave the state as they prefer to leave rather than registering with the state government of Oyo state, The Amotekun was said to have led the herdsmen to the boundaries of the state.
