‘They Took Turns on Me’: 15-Year-Old Girl Rescued from Bush in Imo State.
A 15-year-old girl is now receiving care after what she went through for several days in a bush in Imo State. According to information gathered by Toktok9ja Media, a group of boys kidnapped her and repeatedly assaulted her before community youths stepped in to rescue her.
The incident happened in the Mbano area of Imo State. That is within Isiala Mbano Local Government Area, a part of the state that has seen its share of troubles but rarely something this disturbing.

When news of the girl’s disappearance spread, local youths did not wait for formal reports to make their way through the system. They organized themselves, searched the bush, and found her. By the time they got there, they also managed to arrest three of the boys believed to be responsible. Two others reportedly ran away and are still missing as of the time of this report.
A video currently circulating online shows the moment the girl was brought out. She is visibly crying, her voice breaking as she speaks to the people who rescued her. In her own words, she says five boys were involved. One of them, she claims, assaulted her twice.

The video shows is a child in pain, surrounded by angry but concerned young men who want justice for her. The scene is raw.
As of now, it is not clear whether the three arrested suspects have been handed over to the police. Community arrests like this one sometimes lead to formal charges, but other times, local justice takes over. That part of the story is still unfolding.

What is clear is that this girl needs help. Medical experts say that after such an experience, she will need a full medical examination. There are risks of infection, injury, and pregnancy. Beyond the physical side, she will also need someone to talk to—someone trained to help young people process trauma.
Cases like this one are not new in Nigeria, but each one carries its own weight. A 15-year-old girl should be thinking about school. Not about surviving days in a bush at the hands of boys who should know better.

Residents of Mbano are said to be on edge. Some are angry that such a thing could happen in their community. Others are simply relieved that the girl was found alive. But relief quickly turns into another question: how many others are out there?
For now, the focus remains on this young girl. Getting her to a hospital. Getting her the help she needs. And making sure that the boys who did this—all five of them—face some kind of consequence.
The video is on telegram and other social media.
