Top Iranian Commander Allegedly Killed Hours After Threatening Netanyahu.
A senior military commander in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has reportedly been eliminated, just hours after issuing a public threat against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Brigadier General Mohammad Karami, who served as the Commander of the IRGC Ground Forces, was killed on Sunday during a coordinated airstrike by the United States and Israel, according to multiple reports circulating in regional media.

Who Was Mohammad Karami?
Karami was a high-ranking officer within Iran’s military structure, having been appointed to lead the IRGC Ground Forces in June 2025 . In this role, he was responsible for overseeing all land-based operations of the Guard, making him a key figure in Iran’s strategic defense planning and its regional military activities.
His reported death comes at a time of extreme tension between Iran and Israel. According to reports, Karami had publicly vowed to “hunt down and kill” Prime Minister Netanyahu shortly before the strike that allegedly took his life . The reported elimination occurred roughly two hours after he made that threat, with the strike taking place in Isfahan, a city in central Iran that hosts important military and nuclear sites.

If confirmed, Karami’s death represents a major loss for the IRGC. As the head of the Ground Forces, he played a central role in shaping Iran’s land-based military capabilities and coordinating with allied forces across the region. His removal from the battlefield is likely to disrupt ongoing operations and create challenges for the Guard’s command structure.
This reported strike is not an isolated incident. It follows weeks of intense military escalation between Israel and Iran that began around late February 2026 . Recent days have also seen reports of other high-ranking Iranian officials being targeted. These include claims that IRGC intelligence chief Mohammad Kazemi and his deputy Hassan Mohaqeq were eliminated in separate strikes, alongside precision attacks on critical Iranian infrastructure such as a major telecommunications hub in Hamedan.
As of now, neither the Iranian government nor the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have officially confirmed Karami’s death. The reports remain unverified by official state sources, which is common in the immediate aftermath of such operations.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Netanyahu remains unharmed. He has reportedly released video evidence in recent days to counter separate rumors circulating online regarding his own safety.
The situation continues to develop as the region braces for possible retaliation from Tehran.
