African Leading Women Conference and Awards 2022 Series,
The 6th International Women Power Conference and Award is a corporate unit activity of the African Leading Women Magazine it’s an annual event packaged by Goodwill Ambassador Events Agency to bring together women of substance in the continent and beyond to share their success testimonies, experiences, advise, challenges, problem-solving skills, and midwife the process of recruiting more successful women that will add to the productivity and sociol-economic and political advancement of the continent.
The event themed: Revisiting Global Agenda 1995 for Gender Equality, is the 6th edition and has Speakers and Awardees from the United Kingdom, Canada, South Africa, Gambia, Zambia, Gabon, Ghana, Sudan, and Nigeria. Dr. Aisha Buhari the First Lady Federal Republic of Nigeria as Special Guest of Honor and Her Excellency Maryam Mairo Aminu Tambuwal, Wife of Sokoto Governor as Keynote Speaker.
The International Women Power Conference and Awards is aimed at recognizing and celebrating the exploits of leading women who have broken through the glass ceilings and taken their seats at the tables of authority in all sectors, we also recognize the efforts of the’ HEs for SHEs’ in advancing gender parity in every sector of life, The IWPC also aims to empower other women and upcoming generation to aspire to and achieve greatness.
The speakers and panelists will speak and discuss the strategic objectives and actions for the advancement of women and the achievement of gender equality in 12 critical areas of concern:
- Women and Poverty
- Education and Training of Women
- Women and Health
- Violence against women
- Women and armed conflict
- Women and the economy
- Women in power and decision-making
- Institutional Mechanism for the advancement of women
- Human rights of women
- Women and the media
- Women and the environment
- The girl-child
Women today have made considerable marks in occupying key positions of leadership and authority in various sectors in Africa and the world, we have celebrated women as prime ministers, presidents, and heads of global organizations, and hope to see more of these exploits yet these numbers are too few considering the struggles, lack of women empowerment as well as the gender imbalance that is seen in almost every professional sector.
