Favour Was Allegedly Paid N10,000 by Odogwu Asaba Instead of N50,000 – New WhatsApp Conversation Emerges.
The tragic death of 20-year-old Favour has taken yet another twist as new details continue to surface online. Popular Asaba-based content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, known as Odogwu Asaba, is now facing fresh allegations regarding the moments leading up to the young lady’s suicide.
According to an alleged WhatsApp conversation seen by Toktok9ja Media online, there was a disagreement between Odogwu and Favour over money. The messages suggest that after their meeting at a hotel, Odogwu sent Favour the sum of N10,000. However, Favour reportedly complained that they had agreed on N50,000.
In the conversation, Favour is seen asking if her virginity was worth just N10,000. She also mentioned that she could have gotten at least N50,000 if she had gone to Abuja instead. Odogwu, on his part, replied that he would send the remaining balance. At some point, he appeared to lose his temper and told her to call the police.

Here is how the exchange reportedly went:
Odogwu wrote: “Please am done with this nonsense, Stop texting me with this you’re mindset, Am not listening to your voice hate to hear this nonsense you are saying, I thought by now you would have come back with your sense, Stop reminding me call police come, Am waiting let’s see how it goes, I will not have anything to do or say to you till you come back to your senses, Imagine.”
Favour responded: “This early morning, you are bringing back my tears this man, I know how much that man for give me if i go Abuja not less na 50k, My virginity wey you take forcefully is 10k you don’t like as I calm since? With all due respect sir please let me know, Listen to the voice note.”
Odogwu then said: “I said hold this am sending you money on Monday now is 12am no alert even screenshot my opay send to you, Why are you not understanding me.”
Favour replied: “Okay let me chill have heard you.”

In a separate development, a video has emerged showing Odogwu Asaba kneeling before the family of the deceased. In the footage, he is seen pleading for their forgiveness, saying he is ready to do anything as compensation and that he is truly sorry for what happened.

The sight of a grown man on his knees begging has stirred mixed reactions online. Some see it as a genuine display of remorse, while others believe it is a desperate attempt to avoid the full weight of the law.

As this story continues to unfold, one important lesson stands out. There is an old saying that if a man can control his urges and embrace self-control, he is already 85 percent out of the danger of downfall.
This case appears to be a classic example of what happens when a man allows his desires to take charge. Odogwu Asaba, a man with a family and a growing online following, now finds himself at the center of a scandal that has cost a young lady her life and threatens to destroy everything he has built.

The allegations shows a picture of someone who acted without thinking, who made promises he did not keep, and who failed to see the humanity in the young woman he was dealing with. Whether the accusations are true or not, the damage has already been done.

It is important to note that Toktok9ja Media has not verified the authenticity of these WhatsApp messages. Security agencies and the family of the deceased have also not confirmed their validity. There is a possibility that the screenshots could be fabricated or AI-generated deepfakes meant to sway public opinion.
However, the video of Odogwu kneeling to beg the family appears to confirm that something serious took place. Until the authorities complete their investigation, Nigerians are left to piece together the puzzle from the fragments emerging online.
The Odogwu Asaba case is a reminder that actions have consequences. For men in positions of influence, the failure to exercise self-control can lead to a fall that is both sudden and complete.
If the allegations are true, then a young lady lost her life because a man could not keep his promises or his hands to himself. And if they are false, Odogwu’s reputation may still never recover from the damage already done.
Either way, the lesson remains the same: self-control is not just a virtue, it is a shield.
