Immigration Officer Stabbed to Death with Scissors by Wife in Abia.
Tragedy has struck in Abia State where an officer of the Nigeria Immigration Service has lost his life after his wife allegedly stabbed him with a pair of scissors.
The deceased, James Chidiebere AII, was an officer attached to the Abia State Joint Task Force, Operation Crush. He served with the Nigeria Immigration Service ABSC.
According to a report made available to the public, the sad event happened in the early hours of Monday, February 16, 2026. Around 11am, information reached the authorities that the officer had been stabbed in the chest region with a sharp scissors by his wife.

Sources say the incident followed a domestic misunderstanding between the couple. Things took a turn for the worse and the wife allegedly picked up a scissors and stabbed him.
The officer was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre Umuahia right away for urgent medical attention. But upon arrival at the hospital, doctors confirmed that he had died as a result of the injuries he suffered.

His body has since been deposited at the morgue.
The suspect, who is his wife, was arrested immediately by officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service. After her arrest, she was handed over to the Nigeria Police for further investigation.

As at the time of this report, the police have not released any statement on the matter, but investigations are expected to begin in full. The exact cause of the misunderstanding that led to the stabbing is still not clear.
This incident has left many in shock, especially colleagues of the deceased who described him as a dedicated officer. Domestic disputes are common, but this case ended in a way no one expected.
The authorities are expected to look into the matter and find out exactly what happened between the couple on that day.
