The Neapolitan prosecutor has opened an investigation into Juventus, after a lawyer filed a complaint for false advertising due to claiming 36 Scudetti.
The Bianconeri have officially won 34 titles, but they continue to count two 2004-05 and 2005-06 Scudetti, which were revoked in the Calciopoli scandal, with the latter awarded to Inter.
The Allianz Stadium, club website and team bus all claim 36 wins, and the Corriere del Mezzogiorno reports a file has been opened by the Neapolitan prosecutor for false advertising.
The complaint was filed by lawyer Angelo Pisani, who has worked for Diego Maradona in the past, and is based on the fact that Juventus Football Club S.p.A is a publicly traded company.
The file has now been passed to Danilo De Simone of the “stadium crimes” division.
However, the case will almost certainly be thrown out, not least because it’s unlikely the prosecutor’s office will have the territorial jurisdiction to take things any further, given Juventus are based in Turin.
