New Evidence Emerges in Kidnap and Murder of 17-Year-Old by Two Friends in Awoyaya After Female Dress Is Discovered in Apartment (Video).

Days after the arrest of two young men who confessed to killing their 17-year-old friend, Thompson in Awoyaya, along the Lekki-Epe Expressway in the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area of Lagos State, Nigeria, police have uncovered fresh evidence suggesting the suspects may have taken more than one life.

The two suspects, aged 21 and 23, were picked up by police while still holding onto Thompson’s phone. They were expecting a ₦200,000 ransom payment from the victim’s family — money they never got to spend.

But as investigators dug deeper, a much darker story began to unfold.

What Happened the Night Thompson Was Killed

Thompson, a 17-year-old, was invited by one of his friends to hang out in the Awoyaya area. The other suspect was a friend of that friend — someone Thompson reportedly did not know well. The plan was simply to chill.

But soon after he arrived, things turned violent. Thompson was attacked, his hands tied behind his back. The suspects used his own phone to record a video, which they sent to his parents. The demand? ₦150 million.

After some back and forth, the kidnappers agreed to take ₦50 million. Eventually, they lowered the amount to ₦200,000.

But Thompson had seen their faces. He knew who they were. So the two young men made a cold decision — they would kill him to wipe out any evidence.

After taking his life, they stuffed his body inside a “Ghana Must Go” bag and dumped it in a nearby bush. They were still negotiating the ₦200,000 payment when police caught up with them.

What Police Found at the Scene

When officers visited the apartment where Thompson was killed, they discovered several weapons hidden inside. But one item stood out — a female dress.

That dress opened up an entirely new line of questioning. Under further interrogation, the suspects admitted that Thompson was not their first victim.

The Woman They Killed Before Thompson

According to police sources, one of the suspects had lured a young woman to the same apartment. He promised to pay her for sex. But when she arrived, the two men attacked her instead. They took her phone and then ended her life.

Her body was later dumped in front of another man’s compound. When police found her remains, the man living in that compound became the prime suspect. He was arrested and sent to prison, where he had been waiting for a trial that would have likely sent him away for years — for a crime he never committed.

Now, with the new confessions, police say they will revisit the case. The goal is to free that innocent man and clear his name.

Why They Killed Her

When officers asked the two suspects why they killed the woman, their answer was short. They called her a “hookup girl.” After taking her life, they still contacted her family to demand a ransom.

Her family, not knowing she was already gone, paid ₦300,000. The suspects later used that money to buy a new phone and pay off debts they had owed for a while.

Both young men remain in police custody. The case has now expanded to include the murder of the young woman, and possibly others, as investigations continue.

For the man wrongly locked up for her murder, freedom may finally be on the horizon. Police have confirmed they are working with the courts to ensure he is released without further delay.

The family of Thompson, who lost their 17-year-old son in such a painful way, have called for justice to take its full course. They have also asked why the suspects were allowed to go as far as they did without anyone raising an alarm earlier.

This is a developing story. More details are expected as police complete their inquiry.
