Fear swept through a motor park in Kaduna on [day] after a bus powered by compressed natural gas suddenly exploded, setting two other vehicles on fire.

The bus, which suspected to be one of the CNG vehicles introduced under President Tinubu’s renewed hope initiative, was parked at the park when it burst into flames. The cause of the explosion is still unknown as of the time this report was filed.

Witnesses said the fire started without warning. Within moments, the flames had spread to two other buses parked nearby. People at the park ran for safety, afraid that more explosions could follow. No official statement has been released on whether anyone was hurt or killed.

One man at the park who saw the fire said, “We were just sitting when we heard a loud sound. Next thing, everywhere was on fire. This is scary.”
