OAU Student Lands In Hospital Following 58 Hours Hand Washing Marathon.
In a recent attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest handwashing marathon, a female student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Osun State, Nigeria, has been hospitalized. The student, Subair Enitan, reportedly washed her hands continuously for 58 hours, surpassing her initial goal of 50 hours.
Enitan’s hands were seen in a video circulating online to be white and wrinkled as a result of the prolonged exposure to water and soap. Despite her efforts, Guinness World Records has yet to recognize her achievement.
While the desire to achieve such feats is understandable, it’s crucial to prioritize personal safety and well-being. The pursuit of a record should not come at the expense of one’s health. The last record breaker confirmed by Guinness World Records in Nigeria was Hilda Bassay, recognized for her cook-ka-thon.
