The translator of Holy Qur’an into Igbo language was allegedly a Pastor before he joined Islam – Details.
The Holy Qur’an translation into Igbo language by Igbo Islamic Propagation group in Nigeria led by Sheikh Mohammed Murtala Chukwuemeka has drawn the commendation of Muslim faithful within and outside the country. The event was held at Ansarudeen Juma’at Mosque, Maitama in Abuja a few days ago.

Speaking at the event ground, scholar Chukwuemeka, who hails from Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State in the South-Eastern part of Nigeria, revealed that it took him over four years and some months to complete the translation of the complete Qur’an into his native language (Igbo).

A BBC Hausa Service correspondent, Albdulbaki Aliyu Jari, who attended the event revealed more information about the translator, (Sheikh Chukuemeka. Aliyu Jari informed that Chukwuemeka was a pastor in the past before he joined Islam in 1989. Sheikh Chukuemeka has also invited over 250 persons to Islam from 1989 to date.
