A disturbing story is making the rounds online after a Facebook user named Amarachi Ukachi recounted how her neighbor, a 35-year-old woman named Esther Ijeoma Obasi, was allegedly killed by a 16-year-old boy living nearby. According to the post, the teenager, Chinonso Ejike, committed the act because he wanted to move up to a higher rank inside his confraternity.

The incident has left many people in disbelief, especially because of what happened just hours before the attack.

Amarachi wrote on her Facebook page that Esther had noticed the boy was hungry and his mother was not around. Out of kindness, she served him a meal. But later that same day, the teenager reportedly returned with a knife and stabbed her multiple times.

According to the post, Chinonso stabbed Esther eight to nine times until she collapsed. He then dragged her body to a swamp in the backyard, apparently trying to hide it.

After he was taken into custody, the 16-year-old reportedly told the police that he carried out the killing so he could be promoted to a higher position in his cult group. That confession has since sparked outrage on social media, with many calling for a closer look at how young people are getting pulled into secret cults in some communities.
