ATIKU Escapes Death As Boko Haram Terrorists Storm His House
In a shocking turn of events, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar had a narrow escape from an alleged Boko Haram terrorist attack at his residence in Yola, Adamawa State.
The incident, which occurred on Sunday, July 23, 2023, has left the nation on edge, raising concerns about the security of prominent political figures in Nigeria.
The Adamawa State police command announced that two suspected terrorists, identified as Jibrilla Mohammed and his accomplice, were arrested on the premises of Atiku Abubakar’s residence. The swift action of the security personnel undoubtedly prevented a potential catastrophe. The suspects have since been handed over to the military for further investigation, given the gravity of their intended crime.
It has been reported that the former Vice President, who is the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, has been contesting the outcome of the election, which he lost to Bola Tinubu in February 2023. Reno Omokri, a former aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, had earlier taken to Twitter, expressing concerns for Atiku’s safety, indicating that the politician was in danger.
According to emerging reports, the arrest of Jibrilla Mohammed foiled a planned attack not only on Atiku’s residence but also on the American University of Nigeria and the Modibbo Adama Central Mosque, among other locations. During police interrogation, Jibrilla Mohammed allegedly confessed to being a member of the notorious Boko Haram sect and revealed chilling details of their sinister plot.
The Nigerian Security forces are leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to unravel the full extent of the terrorist network’s intentions and prevent further acts of violence.
