Autopsy Conducted on 20-Year-Old Nursing Student Who Died After Alleged R@pe by Content Creator.

An autopsy has been carried out on the remains of 20-year-old nursing student Favour Agbro, who took her own life after alleging she was r@ped by popular content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, known as Odogwu Asaba.

The Delta State Police Command exhumed her body on July 28 for the post-mortem examination. The procedure was conducted by pathologists in the presence of all involved parties, including the legal representative of the accused content creator, according to human rights activist Joe Israel, who provided an update on the case.

The activist shared details of the emotional scene at the graveside in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area. He described how Favour’s twin sister brought sardines and bread, saying her late sister had appeared to her and complained of hunger. The request was granted, and the food was placed in the grave before the body was exhumed for the autopsy analysis.

Israel noted that the remains would be re-interred following the examination. He confirmed that investigators and the legal teams representing both the family and Ogbonna were present to monitor the process. “It was graciously granted amid wailings, agony, sorrow and tears,” Israel wrote online. “We shall follow up until justice is manifestly seen to have been done.”

The case began when Favour Agbro travelled from Warri to Asaba on June 1, 2026, after Ogbonna offered to train her in content creation and help her monetise her social media pages. According to police reports, upon her arrival, the 40-year-old content creator allegedly took her to a hotel where he is said to have r@ped and physically assaulted her.

Favour returned home visibly traumatised and informed her parents about what happened. She later recorded a video detailing her experience, which went viral on social media. In that video, she stated she was a virgin before the encounter and had made this clear to the suspect. She also alleged that he had threatened her not to disclose what happened.

Her father, Mr Ese Agbro, who has nine children from his only wife, shared details of the family’s desperate attempts to save her after she ingested a toxic substance at home. The family moved her through five hospitals, from a private clinic in Agbarho to the Delta State University Teaching Hospital in Oghara, then to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital and other facilities. Doctors eventually told the family that her lungs were severely damaged and there was little that could be done. She died after nine days of treatment.

The father also disclosed that his daughter had reported the incident to an activist before her death, and the activist confirmed hearing the man threatening her over the phone.

The Delta State Police Command arrested Ogbonna on July 15 following a petition from Favour’s family. Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed that the suspect made statements during preliminary investigation and remains in custody . The Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, has assured the public that the case will be thoroughly investigated and appropriate legal action taken.

Following the autopsy development, reports have surfaced that Favour had reached out to Ogbonna for financial assistance before her death. According to activist Israel Joe, the money she requested was reportedly for treatment of an infection she contracted after the incident. The activist stated she was left emotionally devastated after allegedly being ignored by the same man she accused.
