The Ghana Education Service has taken immediate action against a tutor at Bole Senior High School after a video showing inappropriate conduct with a final-year student emerged online
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted a teacher at Bole Senior High School in the Savannah Region Ghana following allegations of $$xu@l misconduct involving a student . The decision comes after a video circulated widely on social media, reportedly showing the science tutor and the female student inside the school’s chemistry laboratory.
According to a statement issued by the GES and signed by the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, the Service became aware of the video and quickly initiated investigations into the matter . The teacher has been barred from the school premises pending the outcome of the probe .
The incident has sparked widespread discussion within the school and the Bole community, with many expressing shock over the claims. The National Council of Parent-Teacher Associations (NCPTA) has called for the teacher’s dismissal, prosecution, and permanent removal from the teaching profession if found guilty.

“It is a betrayal of trust and crime against humanity,” said Raphael Kofi Gapson, General Secretary of the NCPTA. “We urge that the offender should be prosecuted, dismissed and delisted from GES. He should be denied the opportunity to use his National Teaching Council Certificate to work”.
The Socialist Movement of Ghana has also raised concerns, stating that the authority and responsibility entrusted to teachers make it difficult to determine whether students can freely provide meaningful consent in such situations .
In its statement, the GES strongly condemned the alleged incident and reiterated its zero-tolerance policy toward $$xu@l misconduct in schools.
“Management strongly condemns all forms of amorous relationships between teachers and students. The Service reiterates its zero-tolerance towards $$xu@l misconduct and cautions all staff to uphold the highest standards of professional ethics and conduct at all times,” the statement read .
The GES further explained that there is no such thing as a consensual $$xu@l @ffa!r between a teacher and a student under its code of conduct . Teachers are expected to act in loco parentis, meaning they assume a parental responsibility over students under their care.
Sources indicate that a committee has been formed to meet with the teacher as part of the ongoing investigation . The Service has assured the public that the matter is being treated with the utmost seriousness.
“Management remains committed to ensuring the safety, protection, and well-being of all students within the educational system. Appropriate disciplinary and legal action will be taken against any individual found culpable,” the GES statement added .
Neither the school authorities nor the relevant education officials had publicly commented on the matter beyond the GES statement at the time of filing this report. The incident has once again raised questions about student safety and professional boundaries within Ghana’s educational.
