‘I Will Deal With You Personally’: Zaria Sheikh Issues Warning to Pastor Over Alleged Blasphemy

‘I Will Deal With You Personally’: Zaria Sheikh Issues Warning to Pastor Over Alleged Blasphemy.

A video making the rounds online has captured a well-known Islamic scholar from Zaria, Sheikh Alkali Abubakar Salihu Zaria, speaking forcefully against a pastor accused of insulting Prophet Muhammad.

The cleric did not hold back. In the video, he addressed Pastor Emmanuel Sunday Garba directly, saying that if the two of them ever meet, it will not end well. His exact words were: “I swear by the Lord of Prophet Muhammad, any day we cross paths with him, he is certainly going to the hereafter! Wallahi tallahi, I have made a promise to God: if I set eyes on this pastor who insulted the Messenger of Allah, the Qur’an, and the religion of Islam, it will be a journey to the hereafter for both him and me. We will not accept this.”

The video has since sparked intense reactions across northern Nigeria, with many people sharing their views on both sides of the issue.

According to Sheikh Zaria, Muslims have never disrespected the prophets or holy books of other religions. He questioned why anyone would target Islam in such a way. He said: “We haven’t insulted anyone’s religion, holy book, or Prophet, so why should someone insult ours?”

He also explained that in Islamic teachings, insulting the Prophet Muhammad carries serious consequences. Even if the person later says they are sorry, the punishment remains. “The Messenger of Allah has been insulted. In accordance with our Islamic religion, anyone who insults the Messenger of Allah, even if they repent, must be executed,” he stated.

The cleric was careful to point out that he does not blame all Christians for the actions of one man. He mentioned that the Qur’an recognizes good and upright people among the People of the Scripture. His anger, he said, is directed only at those who deliberately insult Islam.

He added: “You insulted and disrespected our religion, and you insulted our Lord under the guise of ‘terrorism.’ You even insulted our faith? I swear by Allah, before we meet our Creator, I will deal with you personally unless our paths never cross.”

Sheikh Zaria did not stop at issuing a personal warning. He also called on the government and security agencies to step in before things get worse. He said Muslims have every right to ask for justice and that the authorities must take action against Pastor Garba immediately.

“As Muslims living under this administration, we will show him the true strength of Islam. If the government does not want this to escalate, the government must take immediate and decisive action against him… If you do not want us to take matters into our own hands, then the government must fulfill its duty,” he said.

He ended by reminding listeners that Islam is a religion of peace. But he also made it clear that repeated insults against the Prophet and the faith will not be accepted without consequences.

Pastor Emmanuel Sunday Garba has been at the center of controversy for some time. His past comments about Islam and Muslims have led to calls for his arrest across several northern states. This latest video from Sheikh Zaria has only added more fuel to the fire.

As of now, the police and other security agencies have not released any official statement regarding the situation. It remains unclear whether any action will be taken against the pastor or whether the cleric’s words will lead to further tensions.
