Ifeoma Onuike Makes History Again After Emerging Winner of Gani Fawehinmi Impact and Integrity Award.
Heroes they say are not known for what is done regularly, but for what is done exceptionally.
Ifeoma Chinenye Onuike is a relentless enthusiast, who has defied all stereotypes and overcome challenges facing the girl child in a common Nigerian society.
Ifeoma obtained her first degree in Business Management in 2012 from the University of Nigeria and right after, took a huge step forward by proceeding to the prestigious Girne American University, Cyprus to obtain a second degree in law. Ifeoma displayed the attributes of a heroine when she graduated as the best student and valedictorian in the university securing a first-class degree in law and repeated the same feat in her Master’s degree.
While achieving academic excellence, Ifeoma was passionate about the welfare of the Nigerian and African students at large. To this end, she was one of the pioneer executives of the National Association of Nigerian Students. She later went on to become the Vice President Special Duties and at one time the acting President.
Due to her immense contributions and impact amongst students and the community, Ifeoma was recognized with the award of greatest impact on campus and in like manner, honored by the Mayor of Girne, Cyprus.
Ifeoma attended the Nigeria Law School, Abuja campus and graduated with Honors and has since pitched her tent with Intellectual Property, Corporate/Commercial Law. Since she was called to the Nigerian Bar, she has extended her contributions in research and practice over time.
She has consulted, advised, and handled Intellectual property briefs for top-notch corporate organization as well as individuals. During the Eastern Nigerian International Film Festival of which Ifeoma was a facilitator in the master booth class.
She realized that so many young and upcoming creative and start-up initiators do not know the proper legal protection around crafts, creation. In this regard, Ifeoma started a one-on-one mentorship session with creative and start-up to bridge this gap and provide the right legal assistance.
Ifeoma has also shared her thoughts on the United Nations SDG’s goal on the IMUN platform and this has earned her several awards. She was recognized in 2018 as a Nigerian Goodwill Ambassador.
It came as no surprise when Ifeoma was nominated for the Gani Fawehinmi Impact and Integrity Awards for her outstanding and immense contributions to the welfare of Nigerians in Diaspora (NANS Turkish Zone).
Out of 271 nominations, Ifeoma was selected as one of the outstanding three (3) in the award category of Nigerians in Diaspora Integrity Ambassador.
On the 10th day of December 2021, during the event, Ifeoma was announced the winner of the award under the category Nigerians in Diaspora Integrity Ambassador making the second person and first female to win the Gani Fawehinmi Impact and Integrity Awards under this category.
Ifeoma has gone on to impact the Nigerian community as an educationist with the Kings Business Institute of Information Technology KBIIT where training for students on International exams take place such as SAT, ACT, IGCSE, IELTS, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT.
Scholarships are given to indigent students who wish to sit for these exams but cannot afford to finance the process. The center has grown to become also a leadership hub with mentorship and coaching classes.
Ifeoma has equally started a Women Network group which is a platform for professionalism and service. This is an offshoot of EMBLER-Enhancement Modules for Best Legacies and Essential Reformation an NGO Ifeoma started in Cyprus.
