South African Man Guns Down Zimbabwean Woman Selling Food Over Minor Disagreement in Broad Daylight (Video).
A disturbing scene unfolded right in the middle of Johannesburg, where a Zimbabwean woman selling food by the roadside was shot dead after a small disagreement with a customer. The whole thing was caught on video, and it has since spread across social media, leaving many people shocked and furious.
The woman, identified as Tabeth, was running a small stall in the city. She sold Sadza and beef stew – a common meal for many in the area. But what should have been a simple transaction turned deadly over an amount that would barely buy a loaf of bread in some places.

According to witnesses and several accounts online, the man refused to pay her R35 after eating. Another version of the story says he demanded free food, and when she said no, things quickly went wrong. Either way, what followed was not a fistfight or shouting match – it was cold and final.
The video shows the man pulling out a gun and shooting Tabeth three times at close range. Two shots hit her head, another her throat. She fell and died where she stood. The man then tucked the pistol back behind him and walked off as if nothing had happened.

This incident happened right in the heart of Johannesburg, a busy city where people from all over Southern Africa come to find work and build something for their families. Tabeth was one of many Zimbabweans who cross the border looking for a better life. Now her family is left with nothing but a video of her last momentshttps://t.me/toktok9ja.

Across social media, people have been sharing their anger. One user wrote:
“Now you see why I said there is nothing on Earth you give me to make me ever live in South Africa. I have never seen a people so hateful and wicked to fellow Melanated Africans like South Africans. He killed a Zimbabwean woman over a fukkin 3000 Naira worth of stew.”

Another comment read:
“In the attached image, a man is seen brandishing a pistol and shooting a vulnerable woman in a close-range execution style. Recent events have made me double down on my negative perception about SA. It’s now out of my bucket list. I don’t want to visit a country where Africans are being slaughtered by fellow black people.”
There is a deeper sadness here that many are pointing out. South Africa received help from other African nations during the struggle against apartheid. Nigerian freedom fighters, Zimbabwean activists, and others stood in solidarity with South Africans when the world had turned its back. But years later, those same South Africans have turned on their neighbours. Xenophobic attacks have become common, and this shooting feels like the latest example of a much larger problem.

Some online have said: “This is not the rainbow nation Shaka Zulu, Nelson Mandela, Steve Biko, or Winnie Mandela fought for. It’s a shame.”
Another person wrote simply: “The streets of Johannesburg have really swallowed a lot of Zimbabweans.”
As the video continues to circulate, calls for justice are growing louder. But for many, the damage is already done – not just to Tabeth’s family, but to the idea that Africans can treat each other with basic respect, even in hard times.
Police in Johannesburg have not yet released an official statement about an arrest. But with clear video evidence and public pressure mounting, many are watching to see if this time, there will be accountability.
The video is on Telegram and other social media spaces.
