In a candid disclosure, businessman and politician Ned Nwoko has provided details about events that led him to seek medical rehabilitation for his wife, the actress Regina Daniels. The statement comes amid growing public discussion about their marriage.

Nwoko described a particular incident that raised his concern, where Daniels reportedly returned home at nine in the morning after a night out.

“On one occasion, she left the house and didn’t return until 9 a.m., saying she was at a nightclub,” Nwoko stated. “When I asked why, she said, ‘You are not my father, so don’t ask me where I was.’”

According to Nwoko, this event was part of a pattern of behaviour that prompted him to look for professional help. He explained that the choice to place her in a rehabilitation program was made following consultations with doctors, who assessed that it was necessary for her health and safety.

“This was not an easy step to take,” he said, emphasizing that the primary goal was to provide care and support for her long-term well-being.

The Delta North Senator also identified a major obstacle to the process: interference from Daniels’ inner circle. He specifically named her brother, Sammy West, alleging that he and some of her friends were a negative influence.

Nwoko claimed that these individuals had introduced Daniels to illegal substances, which played a part in the difficulties she was experiencing. He further alleged that during her treatment, her brother and friends visited her regularly without permission, against the explicit advice of the medical team.

“The doctors had recommended that she be kept away from any influences that could slow down her recovery,” Nwoko explained. “But these visits continued despite the warnings. It was a frustrating situation; every time progress was made, it was affected by this outside interference.”

He shared that the situation led to several setbacks. There were times, he said, when Daniels would leave their home without telling anyone and stay out until very late, actions that went directly against the recovery plan and caused worry.

Nwoko framed his actions as being about protection and ensuring his wife’s health, rather than an attempt to control her. He expressed that the matter has strained not only their marital relationship but also broader family dynamics.

He concluded by stating that the situation is still being managed and that he is dedicated to handling it through proper medical and legal means.
