British-Nigerian Influencer Dies After Penis Enlargement Procedure in Thailand.
A London coroner has ruled that a penile filler injection caused the death of a 43-year-old social media influencer who collapsed during a massage in Bangkok, prompting a fresh warning about the dangers of unregulated cosmetic procedures abroad.
Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo, a British-Nigerian influencer with around 185,000 Instagram followers, died in March this year after a cosmetic procedure in Thailand went tragically wrong. The details of his death only came to light in September following an inquest at Inner West London Coroners’ Court.
The influencer, who was also known as Denisi or Ego, was on holiday in Bangkok with his wife, Daniella Simba Allen, when he underwent a penile enlargement procedure on March 5. According to the inquest, he received injections containing 40 millilitres of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine to increase the girth of his penis. Hyaluronic acid is a substance commonly used in cosmetic fillers for skin rejuvenation and soft tissue augmentation.

Shortly after the treatment, Ubiribo and his wife went for a couples massage at their Bangkok hotel. It was during this massage that he began complaining of chest pain and lost consciousness twice.
He was rushed to Sukhumvit Hospital, where he was initially conscious but unable to answer questions coherently. His wife informed doctors about the filler injections, but before a CT scan could be carried out, his condition deteriorated. He was diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism—a sudden blockage of blood vessels in the lungs—and was transferred to intensive care.
Medical staff performed CPR for more than 100 minutes in an attempt to save his life, but Ubiribo could not be revived.
A post-mortem examination in the United Kingdom later found material in his lungs that matched the hyaluronic acid used in the injections. The coroner, Assistant Coroner Jean Harkin, concluded that the cosmetic procedure had caused the fatal pulmonary embolism.
The inquest also heard that Ubiribo had previously undergone joint surgery and had prediabetes and gout, though no other significant medical conditions were reported.
Ubiribo, who married fashion designer and socialite Allen in Zimbabwe in 2022, was laid to rest in London in a gold coffin that reportedly cost more than $700,000. He owned properties in Los Angeles and London and was known for documenting his luxury lifestyle online.
His death has sparked discussion about the risks of medical tourism and unregulated cosmetic procedures, particularly those involving penile fillers. Such treatments are widely available in countries like Thailand but come with dangers, including the risk of embolisms when substances enter the bloodstream.
