Alexx Ekubo’s Last Words to His Siblings Have Left Fans in Tears.
The Nollywood community is still trying to come to terms with the loss of one of its own. Actor Alexx Ekubo passed away recently after a private fight with cancer. But for those who have gone back to look at his final days online, one post stands out above the rest.
Just before his death, Alexx took to Instagram with a message that now feels like a goodbye he never got to say out loud. He posted a photo with his siblings. And in the caption, he put into words what many people take a lifetime to realize.
In that last post, Alexx wrote openly about the role his family played in his life. He said that the greatest gift any parent can give their children is not money, not property, not connections. It is siblings. He called having brothers and sisters a gift that keeps giving.

He wrote: “The greatest gifts our parents ever gave us was each other, I’m forever grateful for my siblings.”
Those words alone were enough to warm hearts. But then he went further. He made sure to mention his elder sister, Chioma, by name. He called her Ada Mazi and his Adanne. He said she gives love in her own unique and special way.

Then came the part that has left many fans emotional. He told his sister: “I just want you to know that I appreciate you, more than you’ll ever be able to comprehend. Your existence makes my life so much more beautiful, & I hope you get to live the incredible life that you deserve.”

Alexx also pointed out something that many of his followers had not noticed before. World Siblings Day falls on April 10. That same day is his birthday. He saw this as no accident. He wrote that God must know how much he loves his siblings, because He decided to bring Alexx into the world on that exact day as a constant reminder.
He ended his message with a prayer for his brothers and sisters. He said he cannot imagine his life without any one of them. He asked God to continue blessing and keeping them, and to make all their positive heart desires come to pass.

What makes this loss even harder for those who knew him is how quietly he handled his illness. Alexx died from cancer. But according to those close to him, he fought the battle without putting the burden on anyone else. He did not make public pleas. He did not turn his struggle into a spectacle. He carried it himself, all the way to the end.
Now that he is gone, fans, close friends, and relatives are still struggling to accept the news. His last Instagram post has been dug up and shared over and over. Each time someone reads it, the weight of his words sinks in a little deeper.

Alexx Ekubo was known for his work on screen. But in the end, the message he left for the world had nothing to do with movies or fame. It was about the people sitting around the dinner table. The ones who know your name before you say it. The ones who were there before the lights and cameras ever showed up.
He said it himself. The most important thing in the world is family and love. Not awards. Not money. Not followers.

Just each other.
And maybe that is why his final post has touched so many people. Because in a world that keeps telling us to chase more, Alexx stopped to remind us that we already have the only thing that really matters.
Rest well, Alexx Ekubo. Your last words did not fall on deaf ears.
