Oyo School Abduction: Security Agencies Deny Death of Abducted Student Ahoro Esinele.
Security agencies have moved to dismiss widespread reports claiming that one of the schoolchildren abducted during the recent Oyo State school attacks has died in captivity.
Earlier, social media was flooded with claims that Ahoro Esinele, a student among those taken during the coordinated attack on schools in Oriire Local Government Area, had passed away. Reports alleged that the kidnappers displayed the child on a TikTok live stream, announcing that she had died, and reportedly told her mother that they no longer had her child with them.
The unverified reports further claimed that the student might not have been directly killed but could not survive the injuries, punishment, hunger, and harsh conditions she experienced while in captivity.
However, security sources have firmly debunked these claims, confirming that Ahoro Esinele is very much alive. Officials urged the public to disregard the rumour, describing it as false and capable of causing unnecessary panic among families of the abducted victims.

Adding to the tension, reports had emerged that the student’s mother broke down in tears upon hearing the news. She was quoted as saying, “I knew it. She was not very strong. On the day they were abducted, she only managed to go to school. Unfortunately, she never returned home.”
The family has not yet released an official statement following the denial by security agencies.
