See the Identity of Four Suspects Who Kidnapped a 13-year-Old Girl in Ogun.
The Ogun state police command has confirmed that officers of the command have arrested four members of a kidnap syndicate for allegedly abducting a 13- year- old girl in the Onipanu area of the state.
DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state disclosed this in a statement recently.
DSP Abimbola said the suspects identified as 21- year- old John Nelson, 29- year- old Adeleke Ayotunde, 20- year- old Adekunle Basit, and 20- year- old Abbey Fagbemi were arrested following a complaint lodged at the Onipanu Divisional Police Headquarters by Adejuwon Odunowo who happen to be the father of the victim.
Mr Odunowo complained that his daughter who was sent on an errand by her mother at about the hours 6. 30pm last Thursday did not return home and her whereabouts was unknown.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the command also said “The father of the victim disclosed that he later received a phone call from an unknown caller and the anonymous caller demanded the sum of N500, 000 as ransom if he ever wanted to set his eyes on his daughter again.
” Upon the receipt of the report, CSP Bamidele Job, the Divisional Police Officer of Onipanu police Division ordered his crack detectives to embark on an intelligence and technical based investigation in order to unravel those behind the criminal act and bring them to book.
” On Saturday, 8 May 2021, the detectives after tedious intelligence gathering successfully traced one of the suspects to the Cele area of Ota local government council of the state where he was arrested.
” His arrest led to the arrest of two other members of the devilsh gang at a factory in Ota and it was then discovered that the victim was being kept in a room owned by one of the culprits identified as Adekunle Basit. The Detectives of the command immediately moved in there and rescued the victim unharmed.
” The leader of the gang identified as Abbey Fagbemi, who fled immediately got notice of the arrest of his gang members, was later arrested at around 7. 30am on Monday 10 May 2021.
The Police Public Relations Officer finally disclosed that the victim has since been reunited with her family.
According to the PPRO who disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Ajogun expressed satisfaction with the quick response and intervention of his men to the incident.
Oyeyemi added that the CP have ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the anti- kidnapping section of the state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for detailed investigation and prosecution.
