The FCT Minister celebrates his daughter Jazmyne’s academic achievement as she earns her law degree from the University of Southampton.
Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, is celebrating his daughter Jazmyne after she bagged an Upper Second-Class Honours degree in Law from the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom.
The proud father shared the news on Facebook, expressing his joy as he and his wife watched their daughter cross the stage during the university’s convocation ceremony.
“I celebrate and rejoice with my daughter, Jazmyne, who yesterday, earned a Bachelor of Laws (Upper Second-Class Honours) degree from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom,” Wike wrote in his post.
He went on to describe the moment as one of the many joys of parenthood, adding that he and his wife were filled with happiness to witness their daughter’s achievement.
“I and my darling wife are so elated to have witnessed that moment of joy of parenthood. Jazmyne, thank you for making us proud,” he said.
The graduation ceremony was attended by family members and close friends who came to support Jazmyne on her big day. Among those present were Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State and Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, the Board of Trustees Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Wike expressed gratitude to those who took time out of their busy schedules to attend the ceremony, saying, “I thank my friend and brother, His Excellency, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the BoT Chairman of our party, the PDP, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, and others who attended the graduation ceremony, not-minding their busy schedule.”
He went on to wish them well, adding, “You will always receive happiness from your children.”

Earning a degree from the University of Southampton, one of the UK’s leading institutions, is no small feat. An Upper Second-Class Honours, commonly known as a 2:1, represents a strong academic performance and places Jazmyne among the top graduates in her class.
The achievement comes as Wike continues his duties as FCT Minister, balancing his demanding schedule with family commitments. His public display of pride in his daughter’s success has been met with warm reactions from followers and well-wishers on social media.
