Woman Dies in Uyo Apartment Fire Hours After Meeting Man at Nightclub.
Residents of Ikpa Road left in shock as fire claims life of unidentified woman
A devastating fire incident has claimed the life of a young woman at No. 28 Ikpa Road, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, in what witnesses describe as a tragic turn of events during the early hours of Wednesday morning.
According to accounts Toktok9ja Media gathered from neighbours and eyewitnesses, a man had returned from a nightclub in the area with a woman he met at the venue. The pair reportedly agreed to spend the night together at his residence after reaching a private arrangement.

The fire broke out around 5:30 a.m. when an electrical socket in the apartment began sparking. Reports indicate that the man had plugged in a device and fallen asleep, leaving the woman awake at the time.
When she noticed the socket sparking, she attempted to unplug the device. Unfortunately, she was electrocuted instantly and collapsed at the spot. The electrical fault then triggered a fire that spread with alarming speed throughout the apartment.
The male occupant managed to escape with injuries, but the woman was trapped inside. By the time neighbours rushed to the scene, she had already been burnt beyond recognition.

Firefighters were eventually called to the scene and managed to bring the blaze under control, but not before significant property loss had occurred.

A troubling detail has emerged from this incident: no one knows the identity of the deceased woman. The man who brought her to the apartment reportedly told those at the scene that he had only met her that night at the club and did not know her name, address, or any other details that could help locate her family.

This has left neighbours and authorities in a difficult position, as there is currently no way to inform her next of kin about the tragedy.
