2023 Elections- IPOP Release Names of Southeast Leaders Responsible For Kanu’s Woes.
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have claimed that saboteurs among its members are preventing President Muhammadu Buhari (retd. ) from releasing the group’s leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
Also recall that in November of last year, a group of Southeast leaders met with Buhari at the Aso Villa in an attempt to obtain Kanu’s unconditional release.
Meanwhile, IPOB’ s leadership disclosed that certain notable Igbo leaders aided Kanu’s kidnapping and return to Nigeria. The names of individuals responsible for his repatriation were thereafter released.
Saboteurs Inciting Buhari Against The Release Of Kanu- IPOB
Mr Emma Powerful, the group’s Media and Publicity Secretary stated in a statement on Sunday, January 9, that the suspected saboteurs and traitors met with Buhari and persuaded him not to release Kanu.

The statement further stated that after seeing the President in Aso Rock, adversaries of the freedom movement deceived him that IPOB and the Eastern Security Network had been vanquished.
As a result, the group warned the President not to be duped by ” blacklegs and fired members of the movement, ” who are feeding him false information about IPOB and the ESN for financial gain.
It also warned the Federal Government about the consequences of interfering with judicial proceedings in the case against Kanu, noting that if the government was certain in its claims against the IPOB leader, it should not be hesitant to let the court work freely and independently.

It claimed that Kanu would win the Federal Government in any court of justice, both domestic and international because the government had no case against him, and that the only thing that might rescue the country was a referendum date for the people of Biafra as the world is closely watching.
Part of the statement was as follows:
” Our intelligence captured what transpired at a meeting between these saboteurs and the President in Aso Rock. In the meeting, these traitors concluded with the Presidency that Kanu should not be released, claiming erroneously thought, that IPOB and the ESN have been defeated, which are lies.

” Our attention has also been drawn to the statement by President Buhari that he will not release our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. We know that this new posture by Buhari after he had earlier promised a delegation of Igbo leaders that he would look at their appeal to consider a political solution for Kanu, was not unconnected with the visit by some foreign-based traitors and enemies of our struggle.
” But we want to tell Buhari that he is going to make a mistake capable of consuming Nigeria should he fail to release Kanu because these bunch of criminals he had a meeting with were not giving him correct information about IPOB and the ESN outfit.
It questioned why the Buhari- led government is releasing bandits and terrorists who are spreading havoc across the country while refusing to release political prisoners.
Mr Powerful stated that if FG has a case against him, they should go straight to court and not by the backdoor.
Kanu could defend himself in court if the Federal Government stayed impartial and allowed the judicial process to flow freely, according to the organisation.
It went on to say that Kanu and IPOB will beat them in both domestic and international courts and that the only thing that can preserve Nigeria is a referendum date for the people of Biafra, as the rest of the world is watching.
” IPOB is too big for them to comprehend and they could not phantom IPOB and its operational strategy when they were in IPOB. The people who visited the President promised to help him crush IPOB and the ESN, but unfortunately, they cannot achieve that; actually, they will be disappointed. “
How Igbo Leaders Demanded The Release Of Kanu
Remember that in November of last year, President Muhammadu Buhari (retd. ) met with Igbo leaders at the State House in Abuja, led by First Republic legislator and Minister of Aviation, Mbazulike Amaechi (sitting).
Igbo leaders have petitioned President Muhammadu Buhari (retd. ) to free the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra’s leader, Nnamdi Kanu, under the banner of Highly Respected Igbo Greats.
During a visit to the State House in Abuja, a group led by Mbazulike Amaechi, a 93- year- old First Republic legislator and former Minister of Aviation, made a plea.
Former Anambra State Governor Chukwuemeka Ezeife, Methodist Church Bishop Sunday Onuoha, former President of the Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Aka Ikenga, Goddy Uwazurike, and Tagbo Amaechi were among the delegation’s other members.
According to a statement from Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Buhari remarked that while the demand was large, he would consider it.
The absolute release of the IPOB leader, who is now on trial, according to Buhari, violates the idea of separation of powers between the administration and judiciary.
According to the President;
” You’ ve made an extremely difficult demand on me as the leader of this country. The implication of your request is very serious. In the last six years, since I became President, nobody would say I have confronted or interfered in the work of the judiciary.
” God has spared you (referring to the ex- minister), and given you a clear head at this age, with a very sharp memory. A lot of people half your age are confused already. But the demand you made is heavy. I will consider it. “
The nonagenarian described the problem in the South- East as ” sad and terrible” during the meeting, noting that businesses had fallen and that education had crumbled amid worries.
” He (Kanu) would no longer utter the things he had been saying, ” he guaranteed if Kanu was released as the lone First Republic minister still alive.

Meanwhile, the IPOB has asked the United Kingdom to intervene, requesting the British government to engage in ” active diplomatic engagement” to achieve Kanu’s unconditional release. ” with the smallest amount of time possible. “
It further claimed that over 300 IPOB members were being held in prison centres across the country.
Chief Ifeanyi Ejiofor, IPOB’ s lead counsel, claimed these in a November 17 letter to the British High Commissioner in Nigeria acquired by PUNCH in Abuja.
Similarly, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the leading Igbo socio-cultural organisation, has criticised Kanu’s alleged treatment in the Department of State Services’ prison facility.
IPOB Identifies Saboteurs Who Betrayed Kanu
Meanwhile, IPOB released the identities of more Nigerians of Igbo descent who reportedly assisted the Nigerian government in the kidnapping and extradition of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, from Kenya.
The group claimed that the Archbishop of the Anglican Communion in Enugu, Emmanuel Chukwuma, former Abia Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu, and Anambra Oil magnate, Arthur Eze, all played roles in how the IPOB leader was apprehended by Kenyan authorities in June 2021, even though his trial began in July last year.
This was said by the group’s representative, Emma Powerful, in a message to SaharaReporters.
The group revealed that the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, and the Chairman of the Chrome Group, Emeka Offor, were the primary financiers of Kanu’s journey from Kenya to Nigeria in a statement titled ” IPOB Reveals More Persons Involved In The Abduction And Extraordinary Rendition Of Nnamdi Kanu. “
The statement runs as follows:
” Following continuous investigations over the betrayal and unlawful rendition of our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from Kenya to Nigeria, we the global family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), have discovered more Igbo politicians, greedy businessmen and religious leaders involved in the heinous crime.

” After thorough investigations by our intelligence unit, the following saboteurs were found to have played various roles in the unholy act: Archbishop Emmanuel Chukwuma of the Anglican communion Enugu; Senator Orji Uzor Kalu; Arthur Eze na Ukpo of Anambra State; the Supreme Court Administrator of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma; Chukwuma Soludo; Gov. Nyesom Wike of Rivers State; Emeka Offor; and Dr Chris Nwabueze Ngige.
According to the report, the project’s principal financiers were Emeka Offor and Nyesom Wike, with others playing various parts in the act.
According to the group, these traitors perceive Nnamdi Kanu as a major threat to their political and business interests and are attempting to deal with him through the federal government.
IPOB, on the other hand, made it clear to them that if something unworthy happens to its leader, they will be held guilty.
” They are working hard with the security agencies to link our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu with the activities of the unknown gunmen in parts of South East and South-South.
IPOB emphasised that the so-called unknown gunmen were created by the government and its accomplices to implicate IPOB and the Eastern Security Network, ESN and that it will not sit back and watch ” they slaughter our people without response, ” as it had done previously.
