The story, which has been making the rounds, was shared with Toktok9ja. The man said the lady, whose name he gave as Sheeven, was three months pregnant when they first crossed paths. At that time, she told him the man responsible for the pregnancy had denied the child and walked away from her.

Sheeven reportedly wanted to end the pregnancy. But he pleaded with her to keep the baby. He promised to stand by her no matter what.
The man works as a block mound worker – a physically demanding job. Still, he made sure to visit her daily after closing from work. He bought food, paid for her care, and stayed by her side through the remaining months of her pregnancy.
Later, Sheeven told him her sister was facing some difficulties. She asked if her sister could come stay with them. He agreed right away, without any second thoughts.

When she was eight months pregnant, he travelled with his own family to her village in Ebonyi State. The purpose was clear: he wanted to formally tell her parents about his intention to marry her. Her parents welcomed him and gave him the bride price list – the traditional requirements for marriage.
At nine months, Sheeven gave birth. The man covered all the hospital bills. Not stopping there, he also opened a Point of Sale (POS) business for her. His thinking was simple – give her something to do so she could earn her own money and feel secure.
That was when things started to shift.
First, she told him someone had scammed her of ₦140,000. Then, the phone he bought for her was reportedly stolen. But he later found out the truth – she had given that phone to the same man who had gotten her pregnant in the first place.

Despite that, he forgave her. He went ahead and bought her another phone.
A few days after that, he returned home to find Sheeven gone. The money from the POS business was missing. So were some of his other belongings.
When he finally got through to her on the phone, she did not mince words. According to the man, Sheeven told him she had never loved him. She said she had been pretending the whole time – from the early days of the pregnancy to the delivery and beyond.

The man is now left with the baby, the memory of his efforts, and an empty home. His story has since sparked conversations online about trust, kindness, and how far some people can go to take advantage of someone who only meant well.
