Son Stabs His Billionaire Father to Death in Abuja for Refusing to Release Enough Money for Him to Live in Luxury Like a Billionaire’s Son
A quiet street in Abuja’s high-end Guzape district has become the scene of a family tragedy that has left many people in shock. A wealthy businessman was found dead inside his own home. And the person accused of taking his life is his own son.
Chief Godwin Ademike, a well-known importer and exporter of electronics at Alaba International Market, was reportedly murdered at his residence located at Number 3 Hassan Adamu Street, Guzape, Abuja. The incident happened on Friday, May 15, 2026.
According to reports reaching Toktok9ja newsroom, the businessman was stabbed multiple times by his biological son following a heated argument. The young man is currently in police custody.
So what led to this?
Sources close to the family say the trouble started when the son asked his father for more money. But this was not a small request. The young man reportedly wanted enough funds to live what he called the life of a billionaire’s son. He wanted luxury cars. Designer clothes. The kind of spending that matches his father’s wealth.
When Chief Godwin declined to increase his son’s allowance, the boy became angry. He asked his father why he was not releasing enough money. He then compared his father to his friends’ fathers. According to the report, he said his friend’s father was not as wealthy as Chief Godwin, yet that man always gave his children more than enough money and even bought them luxury items.

That was when things took a different turn.
Chief Godwin responded by accusing his son of mismanaging funds from the real estate business he had left for the young man to handle. Instead of growing the business, the father reportedly believed the son was wasting money.
The argument grew louder. At the time, the boy was not alone. Two ladies were with him. Witnesses say he picked up a knife and stabbed his father multiple times. Neighbours rushed in. Someone called for help. Chief Godwin was quickly taken to Karu General Hospital. But doctors confirmed he had already passed away.
The son was arrested shortly after. Police are still investigating.
Chief Godwin Ademike was not just any businessman. He was a prominent figure in the electronics trade at Alaba International Market, one of the biggest markets in West Africa. He also owned properties in some of the most expensive areas in the country, including Lekki in Lagos, as well as Maitama and Guzape in Abuja. He had built an empire. But none of that mattered in the end.
What makes this story even harder to process is the relationship involved. A father and his son. Blood. Family. Money does not usually lead to this. But in this case, a disagreement over allowances turned into something no one could have imagined.
The young man remains in police custody. He will likely face charges in court. Meanwhile, family members and business associates are left mourning a man who worked hard to build a name for himself, only to lose his life at the hands of his own child.
