Authorities Launch Manhunt for Suspect as Outrage Grows Over Viral Child Abuse Footage

Lagos, Nigeria – The Nigeria Police Force, together with the Lagos State Government, has officially declared a man wanted following the circulation of a disturbing video that has triggered widespread anger across the country.

The footage, which went viral on social media, shows an unidentified young man holding a baby in his arms while repeatedly placing a lit wrap of what appears to be marijuana into the child’s mouth. In the background, a woman’s laughter can be heard as the man continues the act.

The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has strongly condemned the incident, describing it as a clear case of social decadence that must not be tolerated.

In a series of social media posts, Adejobi stated that the police are actively working to track down the man in the video, along with whoever filmed the incident and the child’s mother.

“Every one of us can see this again. How did he get the baby? His son? Or niece or cousin? Whatever it is, mothers must learn from this, do not entrust your baby to wrong hands,” Adejobi wrote.

He added, “Not everyone can babysit or take care of your baby for you. We need more info about him. He must be caused to face the wrath of the law. This is too bad.”

The Lagos Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Agency has also joined the search, urging citizens with any useful information about the suspect to come forward.

In a public statement, the agency provided a toll-free line and social media channels through which members of the public can report details about the man’s identity, address, or current location.

The video has sparked an outpouring of anger across social media platforms, with thousands of Nigerians demanding immediate action from law enforcement agencies.

Many citizens have tagged both the Nigeria Police Force and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in their posts, calling for the suspect’s swift arrest and prosecution.

Medical experts have also weighed in on the incident, noting that exposing an infant to such substances poses extreme health risks and could result in severe medical complications for the child.
